Sad Death of a Small Child
Selma Sunde, the eight-year-old daughter of Mrs. H.L. Sunde, who lives four miles east of Huntington, occurred last Sunday. Mrs. Sunde is left with no help on the farm, and her other seven children are all down with the “flu,” and she is unable to get anyone to go in and help care for them. It is one of the saddest cases that has come to our notice. Mrs. Sunde is a widow, who has been working with her might to keep the home together and is deserving of help at a critical time like this. Funeral services for the little one were held at the home Monday and the body was laid to rest in the Dolliver cemetery. The courageous mother has the sympathy of the entire community in this hour of affliction. (Estherville Democrat, Estherville, IA, January 1, 1919)
