Mrs. Egeland was Native of Norway
Ingeborg Karine Moe Egeland was born in Etne, Norway, on Oct. 17, 1873, and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Norway.She came to America in March, 1892, and settled in Roland. She married Chris Egeland on Jan. 20, 1895. To this union six children were born. They are Mrs. Ellen Roesen and Mrs. Inga Roesen, both of Vancouver, Wash., Clarence of Estherville, Mrs. Myrtle De Wall of Fenton, and Amos of Wallingford.
They resided at Roland until 1907, at which time they moved to a farm in Emmet county and lived there until March 1, 1930. Then they returned to Roland where they lived for a few years. In 1943 they moved to Vancouver where they lived for three years. They returned to Iowa and purchased a home at Fenton where they resided until her death.
She is survived by her husband; five children; 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren. A brother, Nels, and a sister, Anna, are still living in Norway. She was a member of the Wallingford Lutheran church for 23 years while she resided in Emmet county. They have been members of St. John’s church at Depew at the present time. Mrs. Egeland died at the home of her son, Amos, of Wallingford, at the age of 78 years, 4 months and 10 days [February 27, 1952].
Funeral services were held in the Wallingford Lutheran church, with burial in the Riverside cemetery. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 4, 1952)

All of her children were at her bedside when she passed away.Funeral services were held at the Wallingford Lutheran church, with burial in the Riverside cemetery. Rev. Gilbertson of Fenton, officiated at the funeral. He was assisted by Rev. Gunderson of Wallingford.
Many of the old neighbors and friends attended the funeral. Floral bouquets and mission rememberances were numerous. Pallbearers were Chester Anderson, O. Anderson, Clarence Olson, Albert Mitchel, Morris Mitchel and I.G. Maland.
Mrs. Egeland had many friends in this section and all will regret to learn of her death. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was an ideal neighbor. She was in every way a most worthy Christian woman. She will be missed very much by those who were near and dear to her, as well as by her many friends.
