Estherville – Services for the Rev. Wesley E. [Ernest] Shold, Sr., 47, will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel in Estherville with Pastor Clifford Eckstrom officiating. Interment will be in East Side Memorial Cemetery, Estherville. He died Friday, March 3, 1995 at Holy Family Hospital.
He was born Oct. 24, 1947 at Duluth, Minn., the son of Lloyd and Lorraine (Eckstrom) Shold. He attended Duluth schools, graduating from high school there. He then attended the University of Minnesota at Duluth. He was employed in a factory and as a chef while living in Duluth. The family moved to Estherville in 1978 where Rev. Shold was pastor at Full Gospel Tabernacle for three years. He then pastored at Burt and Owensville, Mo. where he was pastor at Full Gospel Tabernacle. The family moved to Fort Atkinson, Wis. where he started the New Testament Church and served as pastor for over seven years. He retired due to poor health and recently moved back to Estherville.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth [Gowers], of Estherville; daughters Esther Shold of St. Paul and Naomi Shold of Bloomington, Minn.; a son, Wesley Shold, Jr. of Madison, Wis.; his mother, Lorraine Shold, of Duluth; three brothers: Phillip Shold, of Burnsville, Minn., Marvin Shold, of Minneapolis and Stanley Shold, of Duluth.
