ESTHERVILLE - Funeral services for Ora M. Grems, 85, of Estherville will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at First Christian Church in Estherville with Pastor Doug Burton officiating.
She passed away surrounded by family Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at Rosewood Manor in Estherville.
Ora was born Aug. 13, 1927, in Ellsworth Township on a farm east of Huntington. She was the youngest child of Jess and Annie (Weir) Rosburg.
Ora attended school in Dolliver and Emmet Consolidated Schools, graduating from Estherville High School in 1945. She then attended American Institute of Business in Des Moines.
On Nov. 9, 1946, she was united in marriage to Merle "Mike" Grems in Jackson, Minn. Following their marriage, the couple made their home in Estherville and Ora was employed with J.C Penney for over 30 years. Ora was an avid sewer and enjoyed crocheting. She also enjoyed watching Iowa Hawkeye and Iowa Cyclone basketball.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Estherville.
Left to cherish Ora's memory is her husband Merle (Mike), son Douglas and his wife Marie, son Fred and his wife Dee and daughter Virginia. Grandchildren Don (Jessica), Chris (Beckie), Alison (Todd), Adam, Chad (Stacey), Matthew, Michelle (Ray) and Dawn (Bill), great-grandchildren McKenzie, Kyler, Gunner, James, Zach, Chelsea, Colby, Isabella, Gregory and Robert. Also her sister Vera and husband Fred Weir and many nieces and nephews.
Ora was preceded in death by her daughter Paula, her parents and brothers Leo Rosburg, and Harley Rosburg, sister Edna Tirevold and their spouses, brothers-in-law Lester Grems and Willis Grems, sister-in-law Edna Julius and their spouses and Merle's parents.
