MAXINE LEONARD
Maxine Mary (Truesdell) Leonard the daughter of William and Myrtle (Stamp) Truesdell was born March 20, 1918 in Graettinger, Iowa. She died on Monday, March 18, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Society in Estherville, Iowa at the age of 94.

She received her education at Emmet Consolidated High School and attended one year at Estherville Junior College.

On January 12, 1939 she was united in marriage to Isidore J. Neppl. The couple farmed in the Estherville area for 43 years. Isidore died October 15, 1982. On August 6, 1985 she married Eugene Leonard. The couple made their home in Estherville and enjoyed spending several months each winter in Missouri. Eugene died June 14, 1998. Over the years, Maxine enjoyed reading and working with young people to encourage them to get their education.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church for over 70 years. She was active in the Altar Society, CDA, Church Council and Hospice. She also was a 4-H Leader and served on the Election Board over 30 years.

Maxine is survived by her son-in-law, George Bruner; six grandchildren, Lisa Weed; Joel Neppl; Jay Bruner; Stacy Bruner; Jane Bruner and Timothy Bruner; five great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Irene Neppl; Lorraine Kirchner; Bernice Bendixen; Bud and Dorothy Neppl; Ethel and Jerry Pohlen; Rita Fox; Bernadette Neppl; and several nieces and nephews.

She has been preceded in death by her husbands; parents; son, Leon Neppl; daughter, Susan Bruner; two brothers, Owen and Oliver; sister, Mildred Maloney and brothers and sisters-in-law. (MC)
