Cecil Wiseman, 43, Dies at Estherville
Cecil Wiseman, 43, longtime resident of the Estherville vicinity, died Tuesday [August 28, 1956] night at Holy Family hospital in Estherville. He had undergone surgery in May at Rochester and had been hospitalized at Holy Family since Aug. 4.Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. in the Methodist church in Estherville.
The son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Wiseman of Estherville, Cecil Wiseman was born Sept. 7, 1912 at Petersburg, Ill. He came to the Estherville area with his parents in 1926.
Mr. Wiseman was united in marriage to the former Mildred Barrett, May 11, 1935, at Fairmont, Minn. Since their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Wiseman have farmed in the Estherville area, farming on the present farmstead one-half mile south of the east entrance of Fort Defiance State Park for the past 16 years.
Surviving Mr. Wiseman’s death in addition to his widow and parents are three children, Robert, 19; Judy, 17; and Jerry, 11; two brothers, LaRue and Dwight, both of Ringsted; and three sisters, Mrs. Russell (Imogene) Love of Armstrong, Mrs. Jerry (Dorothy) Kollofski of Fairmont and Mrs. Arthur (Hermina) White of rural Estherville.
