CLARENCE UKASICK
ESTHERVILLE - Services for Clarence Ukasick, 56, will be held Friday, July 29, 1988, at 2 p.m., at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. John Besore 3rd officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post No 91 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3388. He died Tuesday, July 26, 1988 at Holy Family Hospital, Estherville, Emmet County, Iowa.Friends may call at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home from 3-9 p.m., Thursday, July 28, 1988.
Ukasick was born August 7, 1931 at Lakefield, Minnesota, the son of Frank and Bertha (Koehn) Ukasick, and attended rural schools in Jackson County, Minnesota. He grew up in the Lakefield area where he worked on a road construction crew. From 1953 - 1955 he served in the U. S. Army. In 1956 he began working for John Morrell and Company and was employed until it closed in 1985. August 17, 1958 he was united in marriage with Shirley Kay Summers at Estherville, Emmet County, Iowa. From December 1985 to September 1987 the couple owned and operated W. C. Franks restaurant. He retired in 1987 and they continued to live in Estherville. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 91 and Local No. 79 of the A.M.C. & B.W. of North America.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley, Estherville; two sons, Blaine and wife Dawn of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin and Brian and wife Gail of Estherville; two daughters; Mrs. Greg (Lorraine) Baldwin, Estherville and Amy Ukasick at home. five grandchildren; mother Bertha Ukasick, Estherville; one brother Royal Ukasick, Springfield, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 27, 1988)
