I.L. Soper Died Last Thursday
I.L. Soper died here last Thursday afternoon of tuberculosis. Funeral services were held in the Foy funeral home Saturday. Rev. Johnson of Estherville officiated. Burial was made in Evergreen cemetery.

He is survived by 10 sons and daughters: Charles, George and Ben of Emmetsburg, Mrs. Ernest McClelland of Osgood, Mrs. Jim Webster, of Estherville, Mrs. Minnie Phillips of Spencer, Mrs. J.J. McAllster, of Emmetsburg, Mrs. George Korleskt of Emmetsburg, Mrs. Blanche Slantz of Onieda, Minnesota and Mrs. Alice Irwin of Kansas City, Missouri. Two children died in infancy.

Mr. Soper was born in Pennsylvania 76 years ago. He came to Emmetsburg in 1901, and with the exception of short sojourns with relatives in Minnesota, lived here since. Until late years he followed farming and hog raising. He was an honest and very industrious man and was liked by the men who knew him. His disposition was especially kind. He enjoyed reading up on topics of the day and discussing them. It was a pleasure to visit with him and to do business with him. Sympathy is extended to his bereaved sons and daughters.
