Estherville – Services for Percy Deland (P.D.) Schichtl, 85, will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. John Besore III officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery. He died Thursday, Nov. 28, 1991 at his home.

Friends may call at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville from 4 – 9 p.m. Saturday.

He was born September 26, 1906 at Algona, the son of Vincent and Nina (Robinson) Schichtl and attended school in Irvington. On June 20, 1932 he married Irene Ramus at Canton, S.D. Following marriage the couple made their home in Irvington then Luverne before moving to Estherville in 1944. He worked for Golden Sun Feeds from 1944-53 then went to work for Emmet County in road maintenance and retired in 1972. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife Irene, Estherville; one son Jerry and wife, Betty; two grandchildren Vicki Garrelts and Jeff Schichtl both of Estherville; two great-grandchildren, Justin Garrelts and Spenser Schichtl; one sister, Mrs. Doris Wilhelmi, Algona.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 30, 1991)
