ESTHERVILLE- Services for Laurence W. (Pete) Stripling, 76, will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Robert Wagner officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery. He died Monday, April 3, 1989 at Emmetsburg Care Center.
Friends may call at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday.
He was the son of Charles and Louise (Wegner) Stripling. As a small child the family moved to Trimont, Minn. Where he attended school. On March 28, 1934 he married Verna Blow at Algona. The couple moved to Estherville in 1952 where he was a carpenter in the area and also for Fullerton and K & S Lumber Companys. He has been in the nursing home since July, 1988. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Verna, Estherville: two sons: Marvin Stripling, Vacaville, Calif. and Carl, Mt. Clemens, Mich.; two daughters: Mrs. Larry (Sharon) Lane, Lodi, Calif. And Mrs. Jack (Connie) Fisher, Estherville; nine grandchildren; one brother Norman, Marshall, Minn.; three sisters: Mrs. Irvin, (Luella) Barrett, Slayton, Minn.; Mrs. Leo (Loretta) Rosenberg, Fairmont, Minn.; and Mrs. Eugene (Dorothy) Blow, New Port Richey, Florida.
He was preceded in death by one daughter; parents; three brothers and two sisters
