Obituary of Mrs. Ole Anderson
Hannah Swenson was born in Gudbransdalen, Norway, September 21, 1851. At the age of 15 she came with her parents to America settling in Winneshiek county, Iowa. In the year 1863 she was united in marriage to Ole Anderson. Twelve children were born to them, four of whom have preceded her in death. Mr. and Mrs. Anderson were among the pioneers in this community, it being 54 years ago since they came to Emmet county. They were industrious, frugal and thrifty and became possessed of considerable land in addition to their original farm home five miles northwest of Estherville. Dr. Anderson was one of the promoters and directors of the Emmet County Mutual Insurance Company. About 1907 they moved to Estherville. Mr. Anderson died in 1919. Mrs. Anderson continued to reside in their home on East Howard street until four y6ears ago when she gave up housekeeping and made her home with several of her children in turn.Mrs. Anderson had been ill for about three weeks when she passed away at Clear Brook, Minn., December 12, at the age of 83 years, 2 months and 20 days.
Mrs. Anderson is survived by the following children: Albert, George, Nettie Koenecke and Jennie Sargent of Estherville; Josephine Doyle and Jacob of St. Paul; John of Clear Brook, Minn.; and Isaac of Eagle Bend, Minn. There are 34 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, December 19, 1934)
