Estherville – Services for Ralph T. [Thomas] Ross, 78, of Estherville will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Estherville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Larry Willey officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery, Estherville. He died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 1997 at his rural Estherville home.Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.
He was born June 12, 1919 at his family’s home southwest of Estherville, the son of Ray V. and Barbra Mae (Cushman) Ross. He graduated from Superior High School in 1938 and then attended Waldorf College for one year. He was united in marriage with Darlene Christoffer on Feb. 26, 1941 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. He lived and farmed in Dickinson County all his life. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Estherville, had been a 4-H leader and served two terms on the Estherville Community School Board.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene, rural Estherville; sons: Tom, Dennis and Brian, all of Estherville; daughters Mrs. John (Cheryl) Klingbeil, Estherville; Mrs. Dan (Eileen) Brown of Bailey, Colorado; a sister, Mrs. Jerry (Hazel) Hood of Estherville; 13 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Craig and Tim, and his parents.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be given to the Estherville United Methodist Church Parking Lot Fund. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 11, 1997)
