Funeral services for Del [Delos Senoral] Rogness, 73, of Estherville, are pending at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville. He died February 12, 1993 at Holy Family Hospital in Estherville. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 13, 1993)Estherville – Services for Del Rogness, 73, of Estherville will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 16 at the Union Baptist Church in Estherville with Pastor Richard Mavis presiding. Interment will be at the East Side Cemetery, Estherville. He died Friday, February 12 at Holy Family Hospital in Estherville.
He was born on February 5, 1920 near Vincent, the son of Christian and Ingeborg (Westre) Rogness. He married Eileen Watson on April 15, 1945 at the First Baptist Church in Eagle Grove. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1945 and then attended college. Following graduation the couple lived in Westbranch, Clarion and then moved to Wesley in 1952 where he was assistant manager of the hatchery. In 1957 they moved to Estherville where he was employed for 26 years at Golden Sun, retiring in 1984. He was a member of the Union Baptist Church in Estherville where he had been active as a Sunday school teacher and Deacon.
He is survived by his wife, Eileen Rogness, one daughter, Cathy Koelling of Milford, and three son: James Rogness, Sturgeon Bay, Wisc.; Timothy Rogness, Pine Springs, Minn.; and David Rogness, Fairmont, Minn. Other survivors include two sisters: Milren Erickson, Pelican Rapids, Minn.; and Helen Nelson, Fort Dodge; two brothers: Til Rogness, Palm Bay, Fla.; Orren Rogness, Hopkins, Minn.; and ten grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Christian and Ingeborg Rogness, two brothers, and two sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 15, 1993)
