L.C. Rankin Dies at 67 After Illness
Lee Clare Rankin, 67, died at 7:30 p.m. Friday [April 16, 1965] at Holy Family Hospital after an illness of three weeks. He had been hospitalized for a week.The son of Willis A. and Anna Rankin, he was born Feb. 13, 1898, in Rose Grove Township, Hamilton County. His parents lived on a farm near Williams for 16 years before moving to the Armstrong vicinity. They farmed there until 1924 when they moved to Albert Lea, Minn.
Mr. Rankin was married 1942 to Inez M. Stanhope at Redfield, Minn. He was a member of the Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Inez, two sisters, Mrs. Clarence (Ethyle) Peterson of Ellendale, Minn., and Mrs. Esther Parks of Bradenton, Fla., and a cousin, Mrs. Vern Jensen, who made her home for many years with the Rankin family. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Christian Church with Rev. Howard Wakelin officiating. Burial will be in the East Side Cemetery. Family services are planned for 11 a.m.
