Estherville – Services for Mrs. Ruth G. [Gertrude] Peterson, 74, of Estherville, are pending at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville. She died Tuesday at Holy Family Hospital. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 19, 1992)

Estherville – Services for Ruth G. Peterson, 74, will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Estherville Lutheran Church with Pastor Arlyn Norris officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery. She died Tuesday, Aug. 18, 1992 at Holy Family Hospital.

Friends may call at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home from 4-9 p.m. Friday.

She was born Oct. 3, 1917 at rural Ruthven, the daughter of Peter and Anna (Dohn) Iverson and graduated from Ruthven School in 1935. ON Aug. 22, 1935 she married Luverne J. Peterson at Jackson, Minn. Following marriage they lived at Ruthven before moving to Estherville where they farmed northwest of town 28 years. In 1976 she moved into Estherville and has been a resident of Good Samaritan Center since May 1, 1989. She was a member of Estherville Lutheran Church, ELCW and Know Your Neighbor Club.

Survivors include five sons: the Rev. Richard Peterson, Vermillion, S.D.; Steven, Estherville; Stan, Knoxville; Mark, Sioux Center and Bradley, Coppell, Texas; four daughters: Mrs. Jim (Patricia) Given, Evansdale; Mrs. Joe (Noreen) Jamison, Duluth,Ga.; Mrs. Ron (Marjean) Kaltved and Mrs. Bob (Shirley) Kaltved, Estherville; 24 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four sisters; Pearl Twait, Ringsted; Agnes Pilquist and Esther Hermansen, Spencer and Edith Fletcher, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her husband March 1, 1973; parents; grandson; two sisters and one brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 20, 1992)
