Luverne (Pete) Peterson Succumbs to Heart Attack
Luverne Joseph (Pete) Peterson, 58, Estherville, died at about 10:45 a.m. March 1, 1973, while en route to Holy Family Hospital. He had been stricken with a heart attack while at work at Golden Sun Feeds, Inc., Estherville.Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Estherville Lutheran Church with the Rev. Stanley Eyberg officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery.
He was born Nov. 15, 1914, on a farm near Ruthven to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Peterson and was educated in rural Ruthven schools, graduating from Ruthven High School. On Aug. 22, 1935, he was married to Ruth Iverson at Jackson. After their marriage they lived in Ruthven a short time. They spent most of their married life in Estherville and on a farm north of Estherville where they were residing at the time of his death. He had been employed at Golden Sun for 31 years.
Mr. Peterson was a member of Estherville Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth; five sons, the Rev. Richard L. Peterson, Roslyn, S.D., Steven L. Peterson, Emmetsburg, Stanley L. Peterson, student at Westmar College, Le Mars, Mark L. and Bradley L. Peterson, both at home; four daughters, Mrs. James (Patricia) Given, Evansdale, Mrs. Joe (Noreen) Jamison, Atlanta, Ga., Mrs. Ronald (Marjean) Kaltved and Mrs. Robert (Shirley) Kaltved, both of Estherville; and 14 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call at Reese-Henry Funeral Home, Estherville, after 7 p.m. Saturday and until 9 a.m. Monday. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 2, 1973)
