Estherville – Cuyler Peterson, 78, Estherville, passed away early Tuesday morning, March 14, at the Dickinson County Memorial Hospital, Spirit Lake. Funeral services are pending from Mr. Peterson at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 14, 1978)

Estherville – Cuyler J. Peterson, 78, Estherville, died Tuesday morning at the Dickinson County Memorial Hospital.

Services for Mr. Peterson will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church,Estherville, with the Rev. Leonard Phelps, Spirit Lake, officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville, until noon Thursday, when the body will be taken to the church.

Mr. Peterson was born July 8, 1889, at Wilmington, Ill. He started his education in Illinois and completed it at Ringsted after moving there with his family in 1915.

He was married to Nellie Helmers April 11, 1935, at Albert Lea, Minn. Mr. Peterson farmed in the Ringsted area until his retirement in 1952. He then moved to Estherville, later moved to Spirit Lake and returned to Estherville in June, 1977. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Estherville.

Mr. Peterson is survived by his wife, Nellie, Estherville; one daughter, Mrs. Larry (Karon) Lilland, Estherville; two granddaughters; and one sister, Mrs. Jennie Helmers, Estherville. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, one sister, one nephew and one niece. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 15, 1978)
