Rites Set for Warren M. Petersen
Funeral services for Warren M. Petersen, 77, longtime Estherville farmer, will be held Thursday at Estherville Lutheran Church, Rev. Roy M. Hendrickson officiating. A family service at 1:30 p.m. will precede a 2 p.m. public service. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Reese-Henry Funeral Home after 9 a.m. Wednesday until noon Thursday, at which time the casket will be taken to the church to lie in state until of services.

Mr. Petersen died Monday [October 16, 1967] at 8:15 a.m. at Holy Family Hospital, where he had been ill for a week. His death was attributed to complications following surgery.

Warren M. Petersen was born March 15, 1890, in Tipton, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Petersen. He received his elementary and high school education in the Lincoln County, Minn., schools and attended Humboldt College at Humboldt, Iowa.

He was married Sept. 4, 1912, to Sena Nielsen at Bode.

In September 1916, Mr. and Mrs. Petersen moved to Emmet County and since that time they had farmed near Estherville.

Mr. Petersen was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Frank (Alice) Hartman of rural Huntington and Mrs. James (Alta) Hartman of rural Estherville; two granddaughters; one great-grandchild; four brothers, including his twin brother, John of Rithton, Minn., Tommy of Humboldt, and Henry B. of Estherville; and one sister, Mrs. Elsie Herschberger of Kenneth, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 17, 1967)
