Estherville – Services for Mrs. Wilma B. Paulson, 72 of Estherville, will be held May 27, 1994, beginning at 10:30 a.m. with Pastors Kermit Rye and Arlyn Norris officiating. Burial will be held at East Side Cemetery in Estherville. She died May 23, 1994 at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.

She was born September 7, 1921 in Ringsted, the daughter of Walter and Bessie (Cole) McGuinn. She received her education in the Ringsted schools and graduated from Ringsted High School. On September 16, 1939, she married Paul N. Paulson at Spencer.

After their marriage, the couple farmed in the Estherville area. The couple returned to Estherville after World War II and later moved and farmed in the Sherburn, Minn. area. The couple owned and operated restaurants in Alexandria, Minn. and Estherville. The couple moved to Sioux Falls, S.D. and later Mesa, Ariz. where she was a hospital ward secretary.

The couple moved back to Sioux Falls in 1980. After her husband’s death in 1984, and she moved to Estherville in 1989, where she was the hostess at Hardee’s. She was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church, ELCW and was an RSVP volunteer. She loved flowers and playing bingo.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Don (Donna) Kuhnau of Estherville; one son, Danny Paulson of Richardson, Texas; one grandson; five granddaughters; one great-granddaughter; one great-grandson and one brother, Merlin McGuinn of Santa Anna, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five brothers and two sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 25, 1994)
