Services for Mrs. Young Held In Florida
Funeral services for Mrs. W.E. Young, the former Hazel Bevan of Estherville, were held in Bonita Springs, Fla., following Mrs. Young’s death on Sept. 26 at the Community Hospital in Fort Myers, Fla. Mrs. Young was ill for only a short time.The Rev. Mr. Alderman officiated at the funeral service and interment was in the Bonita Springs cemetery.
Hazel Bevan was born in Estherville on June 27, 1911, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sargent Bevan, both of whom are now deceased. She attended the Estherville elementary and high schools, being graduated from the local high school in 1930.
On July 2, 1932, she was married to W.E. Young here in Estherville. The couple made their home here for some time after which they moved to Spirit Lake, living there until they moved to Florida.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Young was preceded in death by one sister.
Surviving her death are her husband; one daughter, Sylvia Ann Currier; one son, Jerry Young; and two grandsons, all living in Florida; three sisters, Mrs. M.B. Spicer of Denver, Colo., Mrs. Lee Fike of Lake Park, Mrs. Jens Egeland of Estherville, and two brothers, B. Jack Bevan, Highland Park, Ill., and Robert Bevan, Seattle, Wash.
