Graettinger – Services for George R. [Robert] Neilson, 77, Graettinger, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Henry and Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville, Rev. Robert Ericson of Bethel Lutheran Church, Graettinger, will officiate. He died Monday [April 26, 1982] in Palo Alto County Hospital at Emmetsburg. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery at Estherville.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 p.m. Wednesday til time of services.

Neilson was born April 10, 1905 at Prairie City, Ia. the son of Frank and Mabel (Yokem) Neilson. He attended school in Canada and Emmet County rural schools. On Aug. 20, 1924 he was united in marriage to Rachel Holte in Estherville. He farmed and did custom shelling and trucking in the Graettinger area.

He was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Graettinger.

Survivors include his wife Rachel, a son Kenneth Neilson and a daughter, Glenadine Boecker, all of Graettinger; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four sisters: Mrs. August Nelson, Rolfe, Mrs. Lyle Halstad and Mrs. Gib Austin, Emmetsburg, Mrs. William Baily, LaPorte, Calif.; one brother Walter of Oregon City, Ore.
