Estherville – Services for Margaret G.[Genevieve] Mitchell, 84, will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church with interment in East Side Cemetery. Pastor Jack Petersen will officiate the service. She died Sunday, June 28, 1998, at Good Samaritan Center, Estherville

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.

She was born Dec. 13, 1913, at Dolliver, the daughter of Olaf and Olive (Stenerson) Twedt. She attended school in Dolliver where she graduated from high school in 1931. She then attended Estherville Junior College. She taught school for several years in Swea City and Armstrong.

On Dec. 21, 1938, she married Flynn Mitchell in Estherville. After their marriage, the couple moved to Kingsley where they co-owned an oil business. They later returned to the Dolliver area where they farmed until moving into Estherville. She started a travel agency in Estherville which she operated for several years.

She was a charter member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Redeemer ELCW and P.E.O.

Survivors include a son, Mark of Estherville; daughter, Janet Stoner, Warren, Minn.; seven grandchildren; sisters: Mrs. Orvis (Connie) Hansen, Sioux Falls, S.D. and Mrs. Bob (Olive) Nichols, Duncanville, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Flynn on Aug. 7, 1984; son-in-law, Don Stoner, one grandson and her parents. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 30, 1998)
