Estherville – Funeral services for Floyd Miller, 91, of Estherville will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 27 in the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel in Estherville with Pastor Roy Miller officiating. Interment will be held at East Side Cemetery in Estherville with military graveside rites by VFW Post 338 and American Legion Post 91, both of Estherville. He died on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003 at the Good Samaritan Center in Estherville.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 26 at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel in Estherville.

Floyd was born Dec. 2, 1912 in Kohoka, Mo., the son of Jack and Pauline (Schwab) Miller. He attended country schools near Charles City. Floyd served in the United States Army during World War II.

On Dec. 31, 1941 he was united in marriage to Stella Schreiber in Kohoka. Following their marriage, the couple moved to Estherville in 1947. Floyd was self-employed as a plumber in the Estherville area for many years. Stella died in 1996.

Floyd was a member of Estherville Lutheran Church and for hobbies he enjoyed fishing, woodworking, crossword puzzles and reading.

Floyd is survived by his daughters, Ruth Ann Gottsche and her husband, Richard; Sharon Kay Ferguson, both of Estherville; Sandra Lee Hall and her husband, Bill of Algona; five grandchildren; three great-grandchilden; and one sister, Ruth Tupper of Lincoln, neb.

He has been preceded in death by his parents, wife, Stella, two sisters, Florence and Irene, one grandson, Rod Gottsche, and one great-grandson, Daniel Gottsche Achlerhof. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 24, 2003)
