Leonard H. Matthes, 81, of Clinton, [MO] died Sunday afternoon, January 7, 2007 at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital. He was born April 6, 1925 in Estherville, Iowa to John Francis Matthes and Pearl Elizabeth McMillan Matthes.

John was employed as a farmer, a carpet cleaner, and a manager of a local motel, retiring from the maintenance department at Central Missouri State University, now University of Central Missouri. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Korea.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Wayne and Donnie Matthes, and two sisters, Gladys Johnson and Margaret.
Surviving is one brother, Francis M. Matthes, of Estherville, Iowa.
