Sioux Falls, S.D. – Services for Wanda [Arlene] Marr, 75, of Sioux Falls, S.D. will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel in Estherville with Pastor Jack Peterson officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery, Estherville. She died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 1998, at Good Samaritan Village, Sioux Falls.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral chapel on Thursday.

She was born Jan. 13, 1923, at Graettinger, the daughter of Clarence and Clara (Barton) Hanson. She received her education in the Estherville schools, graduating from high school in 1941. She worked in the Kaiser Shipyard during World War II as a welder in Portland, Ore. She has lived most of her life in Estherville. On Jan. 27, 1948, she married Vincent Marr in Fairmont, Minn. She worked at Balmers Nursing Home, Butterfield Produce and many years with her husband at the Elk’s Lodge. Due to poor health she moved to Sioux Falls and has been a resident of the Good Samaritan Village since Sept. of 1997. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Estherville.

She is survived by sons: Dennis Eades, Sioux Falls, Craig Marr, Estherville and Terry Marr of Sioux Falls; a daughter, Rhonda Marr of Sioux City; seven grandchildren; sisters: Dorothy Spoo, Woodville, Wis., Berniece Lenox, Gaylord, Minn. and Mrs. Lester (Pauline) Krie of Spirit Lake.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband who died in August of 1981, a son and a sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 18, 1998)
