Loran Mallum
Estherville – Services for Loran Glenn Mallum, 58, will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Paul Wiegman officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery. He died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 1987 at University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City.

Henry-Olson-Furman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He was born May 23, 1928, at Ute, Iowa [per IA Birth Index, Soldier] and was the son of Sever O. and Beulah Mae (Golden) Mallum. He attended Woodbine High School. He remained single. He lived for periods of time in Monona, Harrison, Shelby and Audubon Counties before moving to Estherville in 1966 where he operated Loran’s Radio and T.V. Repair. He loved building furniture and woodworking. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Beulah Mallum, Estherville; a brother, Floyd Mallum, Luck, Wisc., two sisters: Elaine Gearhart, Harlan and Mrs. Ray (Marilyn) Lyberger, Estherville.

He was preceded in death by his father. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 19, 1987)
