Estherville – Services for Orval Clark, 89, of Estherville will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 5 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Father Tom Nash officiating. Interment will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery. He died Thursday, August 3 at Holy Family Hospital in Estherville.Visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m. on Friday, August 4 at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville. The Parish Vigil service will be held at 3:30 p.m. and the Legion of Mary Rosary will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
He was born on March 16, 1906 in Arion, the son of Ralph O. and Lucie A. (Michels) Clark. As a child he lived in Arion, Ames and Emmetsburg. In 1910, his family moved to Estherville and he received his education in the Estherville schools. On August 31, 1946, he was united in marriage to Catherine Hester at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. He was employed with Wilson Bakery for 16 years and also worked for Montgomery Wards. He started his own plumbing business in 1937 and retired in 1973.
He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Mary Clark of Estherville and Mrs. Ron (Martha) Patterson of Algona; three grandchildren; and one sister, Velma Flier of Estherville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife in 1975. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 5, 1995)
