Estherville – Services for Ervin Arnold Loewenberg, 64, will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. John Besore III officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery with military service by the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Posts. He died Monday, March 16, 1987 at Holy Family Hospital.

Friends may call at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home from 3-9 p.m. Wednesday.

He was born June 15, 1922 at Ringsted, the son of Henry and Frances (Peterson) Loewenerg. He attended Halfa School and Morningside College at Sioux City. He served in the United States Army in World War Two. On March 1, 1946 he was united in marriage with Mavis Burgess at Fairmont. He farmed in the Ringsted area until 19—when the family moved to Estherville. He also worked for Farm Service in Ringsted in 1965 and continued in their employ in Estherville, later Rockwell City and Nevada before returning to Estherville in 1982. He retired due to health reasons in 1986. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church (Elder, Trustee, Sunday School Superintendent and Teacher), 4-H leader and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his wife Mavis, Estherville; three sons: Terry, Waterford, Conn., Roger, Dubuque and Craig, Algona; two daughters: Mrs. Tom (Carol Lynn) Ludwig, Algona and Gayle Loewenberg, Marshalltown; six grandchildren; four brothers and four sisters: Mrs. Stanley (Christina) Jensen, Mrs. Lyle (Luverne) Skow, Mrs. Rosella Cronk, and Mrs. Gilbert (Ardella) Burgess all of Estherville; Melvin, Spirit Lake; James, Edina, Minn., Dennis, Escondido, Calif. and Arnold, Cypress, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 18, 1987)
