Harris Lines Dies at 75
Harris Tim Lines, 75, longtime Emmet County resident died Sunday [October 23, 1966] at 1:55 a.m. at Holy Family Hospital. Mr. Lines was taken to the hospital Sept. 19 [?]. His death was attributed to a lingering illness.He was born in Grundy County, Feb. 13, 1891, the son of Fred and Clara [Spaulding] Lines. He received his education in the Dike schools.
Mr. Lines was married June 28, 1916 to Pearl Cook in Dike. Mr. and Mrs. Lines lived in that area until 1920 when they moved to a farm near Gruver.
They continued to farm for several years and then moved to Estherville. For 12 years he was employed by the Iowa Conservation Commission and later was employed as a surveyor, having worked with N.K. Brown and Robert Johnson crews.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Roger of Des Moines and Louis of Estherville; one daughter, Mrs. Walter (Ruth) Klein of Kennewick, Wash.; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services are to be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Fuhrman Funeral Home, Rev. Harvey Schmitt officiating. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today until time of services.
Pallbearers will be Chester Brown, Ira M. Curry, N.K. Brown, Alan Krieger, Gus Ramsey and Frank Ramsey. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 24, 1966)
