Died – Mrs. Evelyn Blythe died at the home of her son in this city Tuesday the 23d inst., of paralysis. Funeral services were held from the residence at four o’clock Wednesday afternoon, conductd by Rev. Evans, of the Presbyterian church. The body was taken to Des Moines for burial.

Deceased came to Estherville about one year ago. She was a noble Christian woman and in her brief residence in the city made many friend who deeply mourn her death. Until stricken with paralysis about three weeks ago she was in good health, but the shock was too severe and from the first attack she never rallied. An only son, H.A. [Howard A.] Blythe, depot agent for the B.C.R.&N. at this place, is the only immediate relative left to mourn her death. (Emmet County Republican, Estherville, IA, may 25, 1899)
