Estherville – Services for Marie C. Keith, 85, will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Wendel officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery. She died Tuesday, June 16, 1992 at Finely Hospital, Dubuque. Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.She was born Dec. 19, 1906 at Dolliver, the daughter of Samuel and Ruth (Reed) Cayler and attended Dolliver Schools, Estherville Junior College and Wisconsin State Teachers College.
She taught school at Dolliver, Superior and Terril. In 1927 she married Lyle E. Kilgore who died in 1942 [1943, per gravestone]. In June, 1946 she married Corwin B. Keith at Spencer, he died Dec. 6, 1979.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church and was active in UMW, Quilting Group and was a former Bell Choir member. She was a member of the Estherville Library board, Eastern Star, Garden Club and Retired Teachers Association.
Survivors include two daughters: Jane Kilgore, Weaver, Alabama and Mrs. Don (Ruth) Anderson, Delmar; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers: Emmet Cayler of Williams and Galen Cayler of Waterloo; one sister, Mrs. Paul (Sylvia) Anderson, Dolliver.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands and four brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 20, 1992)
