Everett Romaine Hurst the son of Joseph and Mable (Rice) Hurst, was born March 4, 1926, in Estherville, Iowa. He passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at Rosewood Manor in Estherville at the age of 79.

He received his education in Estherville schools. Following high school, he served in the United States Army during World War II in the Medical Corps. Following his honorable discharge from military service Everett returned to Estherville where he was employed in the plumbing business. On December 8, 1951, he was united in marriage to Joyce Ingvall in Estherville. The couple made their home in Estherville where they raised their family and Everett was employed at Golden Sun Feeds. He retired after thirty-four years of service at Golden Sun. In his leisure time Everett enjoyed woodworking, and collecting vintage model cars.

He was a member of First Christian Church in Estherville.

Grateful for having shared Everett's life are his wife, Joyce of Estherville; his children, Alan Hurst and his wife, Sherry of Boone, Iowa; Lorreen Korbitz and her husband, Dennis of Estherville; Scott Hurst of Ames, Iowa; Dave Hurst of Milford, Iowa; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Preceding Everett in death were his parents; and brother and sister-in-law, Fran and Francis Hurst. (MC)
