Services for Mrs. Harold (Etta) Howard, 78, Estherville, were held Monday at 10:30am at the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, rural Estherville, with interment in East Side Cemetery. Pastor Michael Bennett officiated and Henry and Olson Funeral Home was in Charge of arrangements. She died Friday, March 18, 1983 at Holy Family Hospital.

Etta H. Andresen was born Jan 16, 1905 at Schaller, the daughter of Andrew and Helena (Petersen) Andresen. She attended country schools near Schaller. In 1920 she moved with her family to Emmet County. On Dec 25, 1932 she was united in marriage to Harold Howard at Walliingford. The couple farmed in Center Township until they moved into Estherville in 1961. They had celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary. She was a member of the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church and ALCW; Center Country Club and MM Country Club.

Survivors include her husband, Harold, Estherville; one daughter, Mrs. Junior (Delores) Kesler and one son Leonard Howard both of rural Estherville; ten grandchildren; three brothers; August Andresen, rural Estherville, Ernest Andresen, Graettinger, Herman Andresen, Terril; two sisters; Mrs. A.P.(Emma) Thompson, Belmond, Mrs. Ervin (Helen) Matheason, Graettinger; an aunt, Mrs. Minnie Dressen, Hartington, NE; nieces, and nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and one granddaughter. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March, 1983)
