Estherville – Services for Maude P. Hatland, 84, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Estherville Lutheran Church with Pastors Kermit Rye and Michael Kroona officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. She died Monday, Jan. 14, 1991 at Holy Family Hospital.Friends may call at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home from 3-9 p.m. Wednesday.
She was born June 18, 1906 at Clinton, Okla., the daughter of George and Minnie Miller and moved with her family to Estherville in1916. She attended Estherville High School and graduated in 1925. On Nov. 10, 1927 she married Howard Hatland in Fairmont, Minn. The couple moved into Estherville and she was employed for several years at Estherville Drug and later was a cook at Good Samaritan Center. The couple became residents of Good Samaritan Center in December 1989. She was a member of Estherville Lutheran Church and ELCW.
She is survived by her husband, Howard, Good Shephard Home, Mason City; two daughters: Mrs. Mike (Mildred) Maloney, Estherville and Linda Heidenwith, San Antonio, Texas; one son, Kenneth, Mason City; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one sister Myrtle Ross, Estherville and one brother, Floyd Miller, Perry.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 16, 1991)
