Estherville – Services for Romaine “Huck” Chester Hagebock, 66 of Ankeny, will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel in Estherville with Pastor Paul Wiegman officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery with military rites by Estherville V.F.W. and American Legion Posts. He died Sunday, May 12, 1991 at Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-9 Thursday.
He was born March 1, 1925 at Estherville, the son of Arnold and Nellie May Hagebock, and was a graduate of Estherville High School. On Feb. 9, 1946 he married Phyllis Clemenson at Jackson, Minn. He lived in Estherville and was employed by the Highway Commission for fifteen years. He moved to the Ames area and was maintenance area supervisor for the Commission 17 years. He was a street administrator in Des Moines for six years. He has been a resident at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown for the past five years.
He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Des Moines; and V.F.W. of Estherville; he was a U.S. Navy veteran from World War Two.
Survivors include his wife Phyllis, Ankeny; mother, Nellie Rauhauser, Estherville; two sons Dennis of Yankton, S.D. and Terry of Boone; one daughter, Mrs. Wendol (Deborah) Jarvis o Des Moines; three grandchildren; three sisters; Mrs. Robert (Betty) Thomas and Mrs. Robert (Beverly) Boicourt both of Estherville and Mrs. Gerald (Angeline) Langerman of Fenton.
He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 15, 1991)
