Arvid Gustafson Dies
Funeral services for Arvid G. Gustafson, 76, of Estherville will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Reese Funeral Home with the Rev. Howard Wakelin of First Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery. Mr. Gustafson died at 10 p.m. Friday December 25, 1964] at Holy Family Hospital where he had been a patient for two weeks. He had been in failing health for four months. Arvid Gideon Gustafson was born in 1888 [per cemetery records 1886] in Sweden. He had lived in Estherville for 30 years and until his retirement, he was employed at the Hill Packing Company. He was a member of First Christian Church. Survivors include a brother and sister, both living in Sweden. Friends may call at the mortuary after 9 a.m. Monday. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 26, 1964)
