Heart Ailment is Fatal to Mother of 4
Mrs. William Leduc, 22, of Estherville, mother of four, died at 2 p.m. Saturday [September 7, 1963] at University Hospitals, Iowa City, of a heart ailment. Mrs. Leduc had been in the hospital for the past six weeks and had been in failing health since last February. The heart condition stemmed from rheumatic fever which Mrs. Leduc incurred when she was seven.Louise Esther Thomas was born Oct. 28, 1940, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lucien E. Thomas of Estherville. She received her education in the Estherville schools. She was married June 1, 1957 to William Leduc in Estherville.
Mrs. Leduc was a member of First Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, her parents, two daughters, Debra, 5; and Diana, 1; two sons, Michael, 4; and Mark, 3; three brothers, Robert Thomas of Rossville, Ga.; Derold of Jackson and Ronald of Des Moines; four sisters, Mrs. Howard (Betty) Lindsey of Salt Lake City, Utah; Mrs. Ralph (Genevieve) Maddux, Colorado Springs, Colo.; Mrs. Eldon (Mary Lou) Spencer of Emerald, Wis.; and Helen Thomas of Estherville.
A family service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Reese Funeral Home Chapel and public service will be at 2 p.m. the same day at First Methodist Church. The Rev. William R. Noland will officiate. Burial will be in East Side cemetery.
Friends may call at Reese Funeral Home after 6 p.m. today and until noon Wednesday when the body will be taken to the church to lie in state until time of services. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 9, 1963)
