She was married April 3, 1856, to Asias Bucy, and to this union twelve children were born, ten of them, Mrs. Martha A. Waud of Ankeny, Iowa, George P., of Keenesburg, Colo.; Jesse F, of Millbank, S. Mr. and Mrs. Bucy became united with the Methodist church in 1878 and have been true and faithful members of the church Militant until the call to the church Triumphant summoned them from their earthly labors.

On the Sunday preceding her death the good woman realized that the end was near and spoke in beautiful sentiment to those gathered about her bed of the importance of right living and a readiness for the future urging them to meet her in the Heavenly Land.

She is survived by ten children, twenty-two grandchildren, seven great grand-children, two brothers, one sister, one half-sister and a host of friends.

Funeral services were conducted from the Methodist church yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon at two o'clock and burial made in the East Side Cemetery where rests the remains of the husband who preceded her. The bereaved family and relatives have the sincere sympathy of the community. (Unknown newspaper, February, 1916)

Mr. and Mrs. Bucy united with the Methodist church in 1878, remaining faithful members of the church Militant until called to the church Triumphant.

On Sunday preceding her death, realizing the end to be near, she spoke beautifully to those gathered around her bed, of the importance of right living, and a readiness for the future, urging them to meet her in the Heavenly Land.
