Graettinger – Funeral services for Alice V. Brobst, 86, of Graettinger will be held on Thursday, March 22 at the United Methodist Church in Graettinger with the Rev. Vicki Fisher officiating. Services begin at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at East Side Cemetery, Estherville. Alice died on Sunday, March 18, 2001 at the Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg. Visitation will be held from 3-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Graettinger.

Alice was born on September 17, 1914 in Stark County, Illinois, the daughter of Jesse and Susan Ann (Ferris) Moffitt.

She received her education in the Emmetsburg schools, graduating from Emmetsburg High School.

On May 25, 1933 she was united in marriage to Harold Brobst in Emmetsburg. After their marriage the couple lived in the Estherville and Graettinger area. Mr. Brobst died September 30, 1972.

Alice enjoyed reading and especially time with family. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, where she was a past Sunday School Teacher and Bible School Teacher; the R.S.V.P. and BABES, both volunteer groups.

Alice is survived by three sons, Dean Brobst and wife Obby of Graettinger, Don Brobst and wife Donna of Superior and DeWayne (Butch) Brobst and wife Mardella of Estherville; two daughters, Susie Mahon and husband Don of Graettinger and Diane Jensen and husband Roger of Council Bluffs; twenty-two grandchildren; forty-seven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; two sisters, Alta Juhl of Cylinder and Nina Moffitt of Graettinger; two sisters-in-law, Elaine Reynolds and Lavinia Brobst of Graettinger.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two grandsons, Timothy and Gregory; one great-granddaughter, Elizabeth; five brothers and sisters, Clarence, Marvin, Dale and Francis Moffitt and Mildred Phillips and two infant brothers.
