Sacramento, Calif. – Services for Raymond [Arthur] Bringle, 74, of Sacramento, will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel in Estherville with the Rev. John Degelau officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery, with military graveside rites by VFW Post 3388 and American Legion Post 91 of Estherville. He died Wednesday, March 8, 1995 at Methodist Hospital in Sacramento.Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
He was born July 4, 1920 at Estherville, the son of Arthur and Alma (Jeglum) Bringle and attended Estherville Schools graduating from high school in 1937. He then attended Estherville Jr. College two years. Following Jr. college, he enlisted in the Army Air Corps and served in the Air Corps and Air Force for 20 years, retiring as a Lt. Colonel. He married Dorothy Mortenson on May 22, 1963 in Sacramento. After service he made his home in Sacramento and operated shoe stores there and Davis and Lake Tahoe, Calif. The couple has spent summers at their home on Big Spirit Lake the last six years.
He was a charter member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Sacramento; the Sacramento Lions Club and VFW Post 3388 in Estherville.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, daughters; Rayniece Bassano, Renae Pellegrini and Robbyn West, all of Sacramento; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; his mother Lois Bringle of Estherville; Sisters: Ruth Godwin, Pensacola, Fla.; Marion Degelau of Sioux Falls, S.D. and Arlene Youngstrom of Estherville,
