Winnebago, Minn. – Services for Ralph E. Boone, 67, will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Winnebago with the Rev. Donald Bird officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery, Estherville, with 2 p.m. graveside services by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3388, Estherville. He died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 1987 at his home.

Spencer Owen Funeral Home of Winnebago is in charge of arrangements.

He was born Nov. 24, 1919 at Estherville, the son of Lloyd and Marie (Benson) Boone. He attended Estherville Schools graduation from high school in 1939. On April 29, 1948 he was united in marriage with Joann Hyatt at Winthrop, Minn. The couple lived in Estherville until 1960 when they moved to Blue Earth, Minn. and owned Boone Jewelry until 1968 when they moved to Winnebago and owned and operated Boone Jewelry there. He retired in 1983.

He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 3388 Estherville; member VFW Post No. 4580, Blue Earth; member American Legion Post 82, Winnebago and the Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his wife Joann, Winnebago; one son, Daniel, Oceanside, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. Keith (Barbara) Nowak, Winnebago; three grandchildren; two brothers, Lloyd Jr., Spirit Lake and Warren, Green Bay, Wis.; two sister: Lora Belle Beaver, Estherville and Mrs. Oscar (Jean) Myhre, Spirit Lake.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 10, 1987)
