Estherville – Services for Glen [Lewellyn] “Skinny” Bolty, 74, of Estherville will be held at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel in Estherville Monday, April 10, 1995 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. John Besore, III officiating. Interment will be held at East Side Cemetery with full military graveside services by VFW Post 3388 and American Legion Post 91. He died Friday, April 7 at Rosewood manor Care Center.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, April 9 at the funeral home.

He was born May 2, 1920 in Estherville, the son of Clyde and Rose (Vestrem) Bolty and received his education in the Estherville schools, graduating in 1938. He then attended Estherville Junior College. He saw action in the Italian campaign while serving in the United States army during World War Two. He returned to Estherville following his discharge and was employed by the Rock Island Railroad as a brakeman until his retirement. He married Annabel Goldsberry on February 13, 1961 in Omaha, Neb. The couple continued to live in Estherville following their marriage.

He was a member and past commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3388, past president of the Order of the Cooties and a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen.

He is survived by three step-daughters, Julia Graves of Westbrook, Minn.; Mrs. Lonnie (Susan) Lee of Madison, Minn.; Mrs. Rick (Deborah) Heaton of Storm Lake; one step-son, Adrian Hutchinson of Alcester, S.D.; ten step grandchildren; eight step great-grandchildren, one brother, Eugene Bolty of Estherville; and two sisters, Mrs. Orville (Marilyn) Paulson of Estherville and Mrs. Floyd (Joan) Eide of Tacoma, Wash.

He was preceded in death by his wife on August 20, 1983, his parents and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 8, 1995)
