Estherville – Services for Anna M. Ballah, 86, will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel with Dr. N. Gayle Fischer of First Christian Church officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery. She died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 1991, at Good Samaritan Center, Estherville.Friends may call one hour prior to the funeral at the chapel on Friday.
Anna M. Peterson was born July 11, 1905 at Estherville, the daughter of Joe N. and Else (Thompson) Peterson and attended Estherville Schools. On July 11, 1929 she married William J. Ballah at Spencer. The couple farmed in the Terril area before moving to South St. Paul, Minn. in 1940. Ballah died in 1940. Mrs. Ballah returned to Estherville to make her home with her sister, Martina Peterson in 1988. She has been a resident at Good Samaritan Center since November of 1990. She was a member of First Christian Church in Estherville.
She is survived by two sisters: Mrs. Peder (Esther) Loe, Estherville and Mrs. John (Helga) Doolittle of Mountain Home, Ark.; one brother William Peterson of Williford, Ark.; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters and one brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 14, 1991)
