Estherville – Services for Lloyd Baldwin, 51, of Estherville, who died Sunday, February 5, 1989 at Holy Family Hospital, will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Richard Mavis will officiate and burial in Estherville’s East Side Cemetery will follow the service.

Lloyd E. [Earl] Baldwin was born December 8, 1937 in Ruthven, Iowa to James and Hazel (Frederick) Baldwin. Lloyd moved with his parent to Aryshire, Iowa at the age of one was educated in the Ayrshire schools. On May 8, 1970 he married Joyce Schroeder in Jackson, Minn. After their marriage the couple moved to Estherville where he worked as a general laborer in the Estherville, Spirit Lake and Armstrong areas.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Baldwin of Estherville; three sons: William and Greg Baldwin both of Estherville, and Jeff Baldwin of Sioux City; two daughters: Mrs. Ronnie (Jody) Van Thuyne of Conway, Ark., and Mrs. Brian (Gail) Ukasick of Estherville; four sisters: Ruth Baldwin and Evelyn Cullen both of Emmetsburg, Alice Westfall of Estherville, and Mrs. Edwin (Betsy) Ferichs of Graettinger; two brothers: Henry Baldwin of Spencer and Hans “Jr.” Meng of Emmetsburg; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 8, 1989)
