Gladys Fern Mae Wright, the daughter of Burt and Lena (Franke) Wright, was born September 29, 1926 at Wall Lake, Iowa. She departed this life at the Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville on Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at the age of 79 years and 2 months.

Gladys attended school in Wall Lake. On February 19, 1943, she was united in marriage to Eldon "Buck" Friesner in Rockwell City, Iowa. In 1947, the couple moved to Estherville. Eldon died on December 30, 1978. Gladys worked at the Good Samaritan Care Center for many years. Gladys enjoyed playing cards, dancing, attending basketball games and going to the Summer Theatre.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where she was a deacon. Gladys also was an active volunteer in the R.S.V.P., V.F.W. Auxiliary and Holy Family Hospital Auxiliary.

Gladys is survived by her children, Gary Friesner and his wife, Linda of Garden City, KS, Larry Friesner and his wife, Cheryl of Estherville; Pam Meyer and her husband, Howard of Wiley, CO; Debra Peton and her husband, Jim of Gilbert, AZ; 15 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and brothers, Dale Wright and his wife, Maggie and Gene Wright and his wife, Donna all of Muskegan, MI. Also surviving is a special friend, George Crawmer of Estherville. She has been preceded in death by her parents; husband; 2 sisters, Ruby and Florence and four brothers, Elsworth, LaVerne, Roy and Don. (MC)
