Mildred Frettem
Estherville – Private family graveside services for Mildred Frettem, 94, of Estherville will be held at noon on Saturday, May 5 at the East Side Cemetery in Estherville with the Reverend Mark Gabbard officiating. She died on Monday, April 30, 2001 at Rosewood Manor Care Center in Estherville.

Mildred was on May 16, 1906, the daughter of Harry and Mary Ann (Fraser) Wilday in Ayrshire. She moved to Gowrie at the age of three. She received her education from Gowrie High School in 1925. After high school, she was the assistant postmaster at Gowrie.

On July 24, 1926, Mildred was united in marriage to P.E. (Polly) Frettem in Gowrie. After their marriage they lived in Gowrie, Graettinger and Emmetsburg. In 193, they moved to Estherville.

From 1946 until 1952 they lived in Clear Lake and then moved back to Estherville. Mr. Frettem passed away on April 17, 1997.

Mildred continued to live in her own home until she became a resident at the Rosewood Manor Care Center on June 1, 2000.

Mildred was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Estherville. She enjoyed playing bridge, knitting and crocheting.

Mildred is survived by her daughter Mary Ann Eaton of Estherville; grandson Tom Eaton and his wife, Valerie of Estherville; granddaughter Cynthia Voster of Dickens; eight great grandchildren, Angela Voster, Alyssa Moffitt and her husband, Rob, April Moffitt and her husband, Randy, Josh Eaton, Tricia Rembold and her husband, Matt, Rachel Higgins, Ryan Higgins and Andrea Curchoe; two great-great grandchildren, Connor Moffitt and Willem Moffett; one sister, Margaret Kelting of Fort Dodge and also numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters and one brother.
