Estherville – Funeral services for Vera Dahna, 79, of Estherville will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, October 2 at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel in Estherville. Interment will be held at East Side Cemetery, Estherville. She died on Thursday, September 28 at the Madrid Nursing Home in Madrid.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, October 1 at the funeral home.

She was born on February 19, 1916 in Spirit Lake, the daughter of Burt and Martha (Voigt) Yarns. She attended school in Spirit Lake and graduated from Spirit Lake High School. She was united in marriage to Glen Dahna on November 11, 1946 in Jackson, Minn. After their marriage, the couple lived in Estherville. During the summer, she helped out at Angler’s Bay Farm with the boat livery. She had been living at the Madrid Nursing Home.

She is survived by one son, Art Allen of Albany, Ore.; two daughters, Glenda Mitchell of Solo, Ore.; Mrs. Leo Phyllis Shrader of Des Moines; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one sister, Zedta Reister of McMinnville, Ore.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 30, 1995)
