Wallingford – Services for Kenneth LaVerne Dahl, 64, will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel in Estherville with the Rev. Tom Balm of United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery. He died Thursday, June 15, 1989 at the V.A. Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.Friends may call at the funeral chapel from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday. An 8:15 service will be held at the chapel Sunday evening by Lester Osborne.
Dahl was born May 23, 1935 at Emmetburg, the son of Raymond and Evelyn (Fletcher) Dahl and received his education in Emmetsburg and Estherville schools. In November, 1956 he was united in marriage with Jolene Bahr at Estherville. Following marriage the couple made their home in Estherville where he worked at Pepsi Cola, Farmers Egg and Rohlin’s for the past 25 years. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict on the USS Iowa.
Survivors include three sons: Timothy, Algona; Troy, Amarillo, Tex. And Todd, Kearney, Neb.; two daughters: Mrs. Robert (Tammy) Manwarren, Estherville; Mrs. Gary (Trudy) Manwarren, Emmetsburg; eight grandchildren; five brothers: Duane “Eldon”, of Magnolia, Ia.; Don, Blue Springs, Mo.; Dale, Benson, Minn.; Richard and Marvin, Estherville; two sisters: Mrs. Wayne (Vivian) Petersen, Estherville and Mrs. Elaine Friesner, Laurens.
