Estherville – Frederick Dayton Connor Jr., 46, Estherville, was pronounced dead-on-arrival at Holy Family Hospital Friday [July 20, 1979] evening.

Services for Mr. Connor will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville, with the Rev. Max Goldman of the United Methodist Church officiating. Military services by the Estherville VFW and American Legion will be held at East Side Cemetry.

Friends may call at the funeral home until time of services.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Connor Sr., he was born June 6, 1933, at Jacksonville, Fla. He received his education in Ocala, Fla., and moved to Estherville in 1957.

He was employed by the U.S. Post Office and was later self-employed in light construction work in the Estherville area. He also worked for a trucking firm in Estherville for two years until being disabled in an accident in May, 1978.

He is a veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of the Estherville Veterans of Foreign Wars and Sherburn, Minn., American Legion.

Mr. Connor is survived by three sons, Frederick D. Connor, III and Charles E. Connor, both of Columbus, Ga., and Jeff Ayers, Estherville; one daughter, Mrs. John (Linda) Eggers, Fort Dodge; two brothers, Charles Connor, in the army in Germany, and Robert Connor, Lakeland, Fla.; and two sisters, Mary Culbreath, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Mrs. Ellen Hoppe, Estherville.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 23, 1979)
