Estherville – Services for Roy Nels Christensen, 85, Estherville, will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel with Dr. N. Gayle Fischer of the Christian Church officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery. He died Monday, Nov. 18, 1991 at Rosewood Manor.

He was born October 13, 1906 at Humboldt, the son of Nels and Johanna (Nielsen) Christensen. He attended Humboldt and Estherville Schools. On Dec. 1, 1938 he married Mildred Mae South at Sioux Falls, S.D. The couple farmed in the Wallingford area until 1942 when they moved into Estherville. He was employed by Robb Sale Barn and later purchased the South Side Service Station, later owned and operated a second station, Roy’s Service Station. He was a member of the Christian Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Tom (Judy) Davis of Grimes and one son, Roger Christensen, Estherville; two grandchildren, Lisa and Michelle Johnson; two brothers: Wesley and Nels both of Estherville; two sisters: Mrs. Arnold (Evelyn) Hoganson, Estherville and Mrs. Vernon (Eldora) Jensen, Colorado Springs.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and two brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 20, 1991)
